First release on this US electro label run by Bass Kittens' Jon Drukman and Volsoc's Justin Maxwell. The focus of the label is on advanced programming technologies, and whilst this is evident in the productions, Jon has avoided the pitfall of getting lost in the technology. In other words, the tracks dig a groove, glittering with the sparkle of high digital technology whilst simultaneously emanating warmth. The a-side cuts are more in the word-up electro vein, whilst the flip balances out with more breakbeat orientated beats and sounds.

So where do you start when you are talking about an artist of the calibre and longevity of Eon (aka Ian Loveday)? Well, you could start by saying that his early hits, such as 'Spice', 'Basket case', 'What is music?' were massive anthems, not only for us here at Kracktronik central, but also to just about anyone into dance music in the 90s, with crossover appeal to hardcore ravers, house-heads, breaks buffs, and techno freaks. More recently, his work with Peter 'Baby' Ford has been picked up by DJs across the board, including Richie Hawtin (who included 'Dead Eye' on his infamous 'Decks, EFX + 909' release and 'Transitions' CD/DVD). But this is not the time to bask in past glories (many as they are), but rather to look to the three awesome productions he has pulled out of the bag for Kracktronik's 13th release (unlucky for some, but evidently not for us!). Previously available as part of his download only 'DeVice' album, but here re-edited and remastered specifically for the vinyl release, these are three prime cuts with Eon's distinctive production style stamped all over them. 'Texas flex' is what you might imagine 'White Lines' would sound like if it was written in the future by a smiley-faced robot , with twisting acid bass throbs and a crisp floor-slaying groove. Cut good and loud at 45rpm for a truly mind-bending experience! 'Non doctor' and 'I live!' keep up the pressure on the flip side with swooping delays and eerie strings being the order of the day, alongside Eons' trademark tough electro breaks. A welcome vinyl return for Mr Loveday, and a killer start to 2007 for Kracktronik, promising a year with much to offer?

The long awaited debut from the Brighton duo is here at last and it's a landmark release for Marine Parade. The best yet according to Adam Freeland, and it's hard to disagree. As well as the expected breakbeat tracks there's plenty of surprises in the mix: from hip hop and downtempo to punk and rocking guitars.

It's time for a new RSB release to blow away the cobwebs, and show the techno pretenders how it's done. Building on the solid foundations laid by the first two releases, Female (along with O/V and R.A.H.) takes on a new concept this time?'Advanced Bossa'! As the name suggests, this is no lame kick-drum workout record ? this is the sound of machines discovering that they can shake it. Although there are definite nods to current minimal techniques here, there is so much more crunch and drive and purpose to get your teeth into. Definitely unified in sound, but diverse in style and intent, the four mixes move from Sleep Archive style sonic chemistry to serious bass-driven high-octane dancefloor monsters.
